	LEYDEN 8TH GRADE FESTIVAL
	On FRIDAY, JANUARY 15th, the 8th grade band students at Mannheim Middle School will be participating in the Leyden All-Star Band Festival.  This is a fun event with 8th grade band members from other local schools joining together with the MMS 8th grade students to play a concert at West Leyden High School.  It is a great opportunity for the MMS band students to meet Mr. Miller and their future band members. Formal concert unifroms are not required – however, the students shoudl be dressed in nice clothes!  NO JEANS, T-SHIRTS, GYM SHOES, etc.  (wear clothes that you would wear to church) Pizza & pop dinner will be served for all students between rehearsal and the concert.  The dinner is free.....compliments of the Leyden band. 	SCHEDULE 12:00 pm – Student report to the MMS band room for instruments & music; change clothes 12:30 pm – Load buses; depart MMS 12:45 pm – Arrive WLHS, unload instruments in auditorium 1:15 pm – Welcome & introductions; warm-up/rehearsal in WLHS auditorium 2:45 pm – Break 3:00 pm – Resume reheasal 4:00 pm – Sectional rehearsal with LHS students 5:15 pm – Pizza / Pop dinner 6:00 pm – Concert run-through on stage 6:30 pm – Change into concert clothes 7:00 pm – CONCERT BEGINS – LHS orchestra performs (band in audience) 7:15 pm – MMS orchestra performs (band in audience) 7:30 pm – PowerPoint presentation / Student presentation (band in audience) 7:45 pm – LHS band performs 8:00 pm – ALL-STAR BAND performs 8:30 pm – Concert concludes, parent pick-up at WLHS
