		MANNHEIM MIDDLE SCHOOL BANDS
		The band program at Mannheim Middle School consists of several different performance groups.  The ensembles offered at Mannheim Middle School are:
Symphonic Band page		Symphonic Band    ADV–Period 0  /  M, T, W, TH, F  /  Room 160 The Symphonic Band is open to all 7th/8th grade Mannheim students with previous band experience and will perform great middle school band literature in both full band and small-group settings.  Membership in Symphonic Band includes daily full-band Advisory rehearsals and same-instrument technique lessons.  Students will have the opportunity to perform in concerts, Solo & Ensemble Contest, Organizational Contest, and other festivals / events during the course of the year.
Concert Band page		Concert Band    STAR–Period 5  /  M, T, W, TH, F  /  Room 160 The Concert Band is open to all 6th grade students Mannheim Middle School with previous band experience and will perform great intermediate band literature in both full band and small-group settings. Membership in Concert Band includes daily full-band STAR rehearsals and same-instrument technique lessons.  Students will have the opportunity to perform in concerts, Solo & Ensemble Contest, and other festivals / events during the course of the year.
Jazz Band page		Jazz Band        After School (3:15–5:00 pm)  /  M  /  Room 160 The jazz band is determined by audition of all interested Mannheim students who want to learn jazz as an extra-curricular activity.  It will explore the finer points of jazz styles such as Swing, Rock, Blues, Latin, and others.  Members will learn basic improvisation skills and be encouraged to improvise regularly.  Students will have the opportunity to perform in concerts, Organizational Contest, and other events that arise during the year.
Percussion Ensemble page		Percussion Ensemble    T.B.A. Percussion Ensemble is open to selected percussionists from the Symphonic and Concert Bands who wish to participate in an extra-curricular activity.  Member will learn the finer points of percussion performance and have the opportunity to perform percussion ensemble literature in a small-group setting.
